So I sailed over to Baja for a couple reasons, one of which is to work for Uncruise for a couple weeks. The first week has been a nice trip, with beautiful sunrisesWe had a nice dawn along the shoreline of the san jose channel
With some great pelicans cruising along
And then we found two sperm whales! They are the same ones that I found before, and in the same place, so it was fairly easy to find them.
This one with the cut in the fin on the side has been here since october, and I think I saw it last year also, in about the same area.
Sunset is also pretty.
We went to Los Islotes and had a nice sea lion experience
And there was a humpback whale there
it gave us a nice little show
With a few skiff tours out there.
Here's a black throated sparrowAnd some American Oystercatchers
And another nice sunrise.
I was trying to get a look at some crabs
We found a nice sea lion resting at the surface
A group of Common Dolphins
They like to jump
And again!
And, at last, a Blue Whale!
Two of them, and they cruised around us for a while
It was a nice day of watching the blue whales
Here are some Pelicans diving for fish in the early morning
And a Craveri's Murrelet
A little closer!
And a Blue Whale from a skiff tour
They have such an impressive blow!
The moon began to wax as we watched this week
On the last day we had a nice group of Grebes
And paddled in the mangroves, with lots of Egrets
A gull searching for some fish
Got it!
A nervous Reddish Egret
A juvenile Ibis
Another look at the Reddish Egret
A Golden-Crowned Night Heron
And some small guys, I think they are Dunlin
Now we go to La Paz, do a turn around and I have one more week with the vessel and then I'll do a trip back to Vallarta
